VERTICAL ENTERTAINMENT THRILLER “RUSHED“ FILM PREMIERE (Especially relevant if YOU are going to college OR are a parent) by Calvin Schwartz Aug 11th 2021

When I leaned about this movie, RUSHED, I was ‘aboard’ instantly. The trailer ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNN7D3AKVT0 ) riveted me. How relevant. How often in the news. Happens every year. It happened to me back when Kennedy was President. Still happens. Therefore, this movie should be seen. An old saying, “Those who save a life, save the world.”  Rushed is about hazing on college campuses.  Enough said.  Calvin Schwartz  Aug 11, 2021

The upcoming thriller, Rushed, which will be in theaters -- and streaming via Apple and Amazon - on August 27th. You can view the trailer here.
Siobhan Fallon Hogan (SNL, Forrest Gump) stars, in addition to co-producing the film with Zentropa and writing the screenplay. If interested, happy to coordinate an interview with her — she can discuss the inspiration behind the film, as well as her career. From her friendship with Chris Farley, to working on the set of Men in Black, 30 Rock and Seinfeld, before pivoting into the world of Lars Von Trier, she has a lot of great anecdotes. (She will also be seen later this year in Clifford the Big Red Dog.)
Her husband and fellow producer Peter grew up in Rockaway – they had a house in Breezy Pt for seven years and lived at 43 Olive Walk. Peter grew up on 117th St and his cousins the McManuses own Jamison’s Bar on 129th.
Rushed also stars Robert Patrick (Terminator 2: Judgement Day), Jake Weary (Animal Kingdom, It Follows), Peri Gilpin (Frasier), and former NFL player Phil Villapiano.
Here is the plot of the film: Barbara O’Brien (Hogan), an Upstate New York, Irish Catholic mother who says her rosary daily, then swears profusely as she drives her kids to school. Barbara’s life is ruined when her son Jimmy (Jay Jay Warren), a college freshman, is involved in a fraternity hazing incident. Barbara resorts to extreme measures when she encounters empty promises in Washington, D.C.
Fallon Hogan wrote the film “because as a mother of three, I understand that Hell hath no fury like a mother scorned.” After she completed the script, she sent it to Zentropa Films given her experiences as an actress with Lars Von Trier for over 25 years in his films, Dancer in The Dark, Dogville, and The House That Jack Built. “They immediately called me and agreed to co-produce the film which was fantastic.” Vertical Entertainment is handling distribution domestically and Octane Entertainment internationally.
The movie also features rapper Fat Nick, Ellen Cleghorne, Jay Jay Warren, and Brian O’Halloran. Rushed was directed by Vibeke Muasya and produced by Emerald Caz Productions and Zentropa Films.
